Darjeeling Tea Garden munsi at Arya Tea Estate | Photo

Here is a photo of a Darjeeling Tea garden worker at Arya Tea Estate. Arya Tea Estate is one of the most well renowned tea estates of Darjeeling producing pure and 100% organic Darjeeling Teas. Its line of jewels – Ruby, Topaz, Emerald and Diamond are worth trying which instigates a feeling of what a real Darjeeling Tea tastes like.

Darjeeling Tea Worker at Arya Tea Estate

The photo above was taken sometime back when I visited Arya Tea Estate. A Darjeeling Tea garden itself can be seen as a huge entity with hundreds of employees each bearing a specific designation highest being the Superintendent who is responsible for looking after more than one tea garden, but in case of a single tea garden ownership, manager holds the highest position in the plantation. Likewise, there are various designations and the photo above is of a “Munsi” – A munsi is responsible for all the tea plucking inspection. Most of the munsi’s are males and his work is going out to the fields along with the women tea pluckers and inspect and direct proper tea pluckings in the area where the plucking is being done. He has to have a thorough knowledge which comes with experience and time. This particular munsi has been working at Arya Tea Estate for decades.

Hope you enjoy the photo!

Darjeeling and Kanchenjunga

darjeeling-kanchenjunga-tea-estates

This is a photo which I had taken sometime back with my manual slr camera. Its a view of Mt. Kanchenjunga as seen from Darjeeling town. Mt. Kanchenjunga is the third highest peak in the world with a height of 8,586 m. It is believed that the most spectacular view of the whole mountain range of Mt. Kanchenjunga is seen from Darjeeling town. It is also believed that the early British settlers, apart from other historical reasons, chose this place due to its scenic beauty and climatic conditions which resembled that of England. In the photo, you will see a part of Darjeeling town on the right and the lower part of the hills constitute some Darjeeling Tea plantations. Further off are the hills of Sikkim.

Apart from the Darjeeling Tea industry, Darjeeling is blessed with nature’s scenic beauty and this view is one view which Darjeeling can be proud of. Hoards of tourists flock to Darjeeling every year, some to see the land where their favorite Darjeeling Tea grows and some to just get a glimpse of the view above.

An Amazing old Darjeeling Tea photo I found

I was just meddling with my old stuff and I found an old Darjeeling Tea photo. Its an amazing find and I had to post it here. Its so touching to see one of the porters carry tea chest in the olden days. The tea chest is clearly marked with the tea company name “NS Tea Co. Ltd.” and the tea garden name which is “Bloomfield” now known as “Orange Valley Tea Estate”. The invoice no. is also visible but not so vivid. I humbly salute all the pioneers and all the tea workers who put their blood and sweat in bringing up this famed Darjeeling Tea industry and for making it possible for us to brew this heavenly brew in the comfort of our homes.

I wonder how it might have been in the olden days? Wish I had perceived it, but what if I didn’t, I can still feel the presence with every sip of Darjeeling Tea I take.

Enjoy the photo!! If you think this is a valuable share, re-tweeting or sharing it on your Facebook profiles will be appreciated greatly. Sharing with other tea lovers can be a tremendous feeling.

You know the frequency of blog posts to this blog, just unpredictable and I can’t predict when I am gonna post next hehe, though I try to, cross my heart!!

Take care and Happy Tea Sipping friends!
